Gridlock

Liberal Democrat campaigner Aidan Lunn reports that Liberal Democrats have questioned why the Conservative run Hampshire County Council decided to go ahead with major road works while the Esso Pipeline project is taking place, causing catastrophic traffic problems around Farnborough. At its worst in May it brought local roads to a standstill. Many parts of the Empress ward were at gridlock at peak times. Work at the junctions of Highgate Lane were taking place when Prospect Road Bridge was also closed. This meant taking an hour to get from one side of Farnborough to the other. Leola Card says “ This lack of coordination of planning and consideration for local residents and businesses is totally unacceptable. It seems the Conservatives who run H a m p s h i r e County Council do not care what chaos they cause to our town.
