Waterways in Hampshire face new pollution threat

8 Sep 2023

The government has made further moves recently in parliament to Scrap the nutrient neutrality rules. Nutrient Neutrality regulations ensure that new building developments in designated areas can be approved once suitable measures are in place to counteract an increase in pollution of our rivers. But government plans announced would see the removal of those crucial protections.

Councillor Craig Card says " I am really concerned about the pollution to our waterways from our water companies and this is another blow to our environment. I have seen first hand companies polluting our rivers whilst till making huge profits. We need laws to prevent it happening not to reduce laws"
