Following on from resident's concerns about the lack of maintenance to the pond in Napier Gardens some remedial work will happen on 28th February. The bank will be cut back where it has overgrown towards the footpath. Later in the year around September some of the bull rushes will be cut back from the pontoon viewing stages after the wildlife have finished nesting. Your Lib Dem Councillors have been working with officers to resolve this lack of maintenance. The Council says it does not have the funds to maintain the pond as it should.
Princesmead shopping centre has been sold to a developer with plans to build 350 homes. The press release said they have a long term plan to re-energise the retail market and provide homes. They say this plan will be in addition to the other civic centre plans already being brought forward by Rushmoor Council. Through delivery of affordable homes and the successful re-imagination of our high streets. The developers also say there plan to develop would be delivered before the first phase of the Civic quarter plans for the town.
