Councillor Craig Card was out today in the Park Road area seeing the disastrous effects of the Lynchford Road closure. Between 8am and 9am 1365 vehicles came off the roundabout into Park Road which is now being used as an unoffical diversion around the road closure.
Councillor Craig Card visited a MRF recyling centre today and Chineham Energy Recovery Facility to review the current recyling process. As Hampshire County Council are looking to replace both centres in Portsmouth and Alton with a new purpose built centre in the next two years. Craig Card says "We learnt today that Vaps should not go into recyling as the plastic cannot be safely separted from the batteries which can causes explosion and fires as they go through the compactors. So please put Vaps in your general waste bin." More on the new proposals as we recieve updates.
Rushmoor council appears to have still not made a decision on the conservation area review. At the time of writing they say they are currently considering the responses received.
The council has responded to some of the questions raised in the consultation for the Civic Quarter development in Farnborough.

Over the summer Liberal Democrats have called for a cut to VAT and a freeze on energy bills into the autumn and winter. Oil and Gas companies continue to have record profits. The Lib Dem plan would ensure the cost of increased Energy Bill support would be paid for by a new windfall tax on energy company profits.
