Lynchford roadworks

Park and Queens Road

Lib Dems were out again this week counting traffic on Park and Queens Road. Our count shows no decrease in the number of vehicles using these roads. We have again contacted Hampshire Highways over this issue calling them to resolve the diversion problems the Lynchford Road improvements are causing.

Malborugh school

Marlborough School

The Liberal Democrats have been asked by residents and the School to look into traffic problems around Marlborough School. Your Lib Dem Councillor attended the school Thursday to see the problem for ourselves. Cars pulled up outside the school on double yellow lines and in the zigzag box to drop off young children while other children and parents were trying to cross the road outside the school.

Water gushing into Pierrefondes Avenue

Empress Liberal Democrats reported concerns over the water company doing a test of thousands of gallons of water pouring out into Pierrefondes Avenue on Thursday. The road was slippery and there seemed to be no action being taken by the workers to prevent ice covering the road. This was reported and we are told action was taken by Hampshire county council and in future permits for this work will ensure gritting is undertaken.

A digital world fit for the next generation

For too long, tech giants have treated children as data to be mined, using addictive algorithms and harmful content to keep them scrolling. While some are calling for blanket bans, we know these are impractical and risk isolating vulnerable groups.
